Maurice A. Strickland (born January 1983), known professionally as Sonny BL^CK, is an American photographer, musician, videographer, and entrepreneur. Born in the Austin neighborhood of the west side of Chicago.
Since his emergence in 2003, Strickland has easily proven to be one of the windy city's most talented & respected indie creatives. Captivating not only in his vivid and thought provoking lyricism as an Emcee, but also his keen instinct & vision in the business & branding fields.
Through his visual artistry, Sonny has continued to enjoy increasing success and impact his audience in fresh way. Working primarily in the areas of Portraiture, Fashion, Editorial Weddings, Street Photography & Fine Art, The artist has been able to capture or cover several high profile events including the Chicago Bank Of America Marathon, New York Fashion Week, Chicago Fashion Week, Paris Fashion Week, and several festivals & events around the world.
The Chicago artist also continues to advocate on behalf of other artists & entrepreneurs, promoting the ideals of open collaboration & group economics to a whole new era of the city's creative talent.
